What's Love, Pleasure, Health, and Happiness Got to Do With It? 
Featuring Stella Resnick, Ph. D.

People often think of sex as an activity or maybe a series of activities leading to the final act. Sex is that, but also so much more. This talk will explore the larger and deeper meaning of our sexual selves. We’ll look at the link between our sex lives and how we express and accept love, allow and learn from pleasure, and keep physically energized and emotionally gratified.

Stella Resnick, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist specializing in relationships and sexual enrichment. Her latest book is The Heart of Desire: Keys to the Pleasures of Love. Her previous book, The Pleasure Zone: Why We Resist Good Feelings has been translated into nine different languages, and is considered a classic.

Connecting at the Neck: How Can We Reconnect All Aspects of our Mind, Body and Spirit to Become Healthier? 
Westside Family Health Center's health series.

Join Westside Family Health Center for its next Lunch & Learn, "Connecting at the Neck: How Can We Reconnect All Aspects of our Mind, Body and Spirit to Become Healthier?"

This Lunch & Learn will be held Wednesday, May 21 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 1343 Ocean Park Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA 90405.

The talk will explore all aspects of the individual, including how one's mind, body and spirit are connected and affect one's overall health and happiness.

The panel of speakers includes:

Rabbi Amy Bernstein, Associate Rabbi at Kehillat Israel, who will speak on spirituality as it relates to health;

Nicholas Bruss, a certified Mindfulness Facilitator by UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, who will speak on meditation and mindfulness-based stress reduction;

Jane Ohmes Mirshak, executive director of Naam Yoga LA Healing and Research Center, who will speak on yoga and the healing power of laughter and sound.

Admission is free, parking is free and will be provided in the church lot, and a light lunch will be served.
