2nd Sunday Jazz is happy to present An afternoon of Brazilian Music featuring  Ted Falcon, Wesley Amorim and Douglas Lora! 

Sunday, November 13th at 5pm.

Three of the most innovative and dynamic instrumentalists of the Los Angeles music scene join together to share their love of Brazilian music. Douglas Lora and Wesley Amorim are both award winning composers, arrangers and guitarists who work extensively in Brazilian music. Rounding out the trio is violinist and mandolinist Ted Falcon, recognized by his peers as a leader and catalyst of the Brazilian Choro movement in the U.S. The group recently performed at LACMA in their Latin Sounds Series and have toured extensively throughout the U.S. and in Brazil.

Ted Falcon
has released ten CDs and performed with many Brazilian legends including Hermeto Pascoal, Gilberto Gil, Armandinho Macedo and Dominguinhos. He tours with his various musical projects including the Gypsy Jazz Club, Brazilian Strings Trio and the duo Ted and Pablo, a partnership with harmonica player Pablo Fagundes. Ted has written and published several books about Brazilian choro, forró, and frevo and is a former Adjunct Professor of Music at Whittier College and a current music teacher at the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.

Wesley Amorim
is a versatile Brazilian Music Producer, Composer and Latin Grammy nominated Guitarist. He has a resilient and resourceful character with 18 years of performance history. He is skilled at areas such as music and executive production, session musician, arrangement, film and media composition.
At 17, he began playing and recording professionally using a wide range of music genres, from Brazilian to jazz, rock, pop, and gospel. He has performed in Broadway musicals, including Jesus Christ Superstar and The Lion King, and with countless artists.
Amorim moved to the US in 2014 and has since shared the stage and/or recorded with renowned artists, including Alcione, Cyro Baptista, Luciana Mello, Neguinho da Beija-Flor, Jair Oliveira, Oriente Lopez, and others.
He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Birdland, Blue Note, Joe's Pub, The Metropolitan Room, the DiMenna Center, Club Bonafide, and many others.
Wesley performed on the album ‘Selfie’ by the artist Jair Oliveira, nominated for the 2019 Latin Grammy Award for Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album.

Douglas Lora
Three time Grammy nominee guitarist and composer Douglas Lora transits with versatility through the universes of Classical and Popular Music, and has established himself as one of the most prominent artists of his generation.
With a wide range of musical possibilities, Douglas has collaborated with renowned artist such as YoYo Ma, Paquito d’Rivera, Assad Brothers, Anat Cohen, Marco Pereira, Jovino Santos Neto, Ney Rosauro, Marina Piccinini, Paulo Bellinati, among others. Member of the awarded Brasil Guitar Duo for over twenty years, Douglas has performed extensively at the most important theaters and concert halls in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Appearances as soloists with major orquestras such as Dallas Symphony, Houston Symphony, Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas (New York City), Delaware Symphony, Sphinx Organization Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo (Brasil) and Aukso Orchestra (Poland).
