Steve Cotter received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the University of North Texas (UNT) and has performed in a variety of ensembles with many talented musicians, including Matt Otto, Joe Bagg, Willie Jones III, Bobby Caldwell, Joey DeFrancesco, John Pisano, Jane Getz, and Ernie Watts. He has recorded on several albums, including Bette Midler’s Tribute to Peggy Lee, Bobby Caldwell’s Come Rain or Come Shine, Matt Otto’s 53 West 19th, Evan Stone’s Sticks and Stones, Josh Nelson’s Anticipation, and Jerry Pinter’s Caminos Cruzados. Since 2005, Cotter has toured extensively with vocalist Steve Tyrell. When in Los Angeles, he teaches at Citrus College, performs at various venues, and is currently working on an album of his original compositions. He joined the faculty of the Pasadena Conservatory of Music in March 2012.
